VINTAGE COLLECTION
With an eye for jewelry and design, Patti has collected these pieces from a wide range of places over the years. Beyond being a great piece of jewelry, each item has its own unique meaning to Patti because of where she got it or where she wore it, as you'll see in the descriptions.
Vintage Rhinestone Earrings #1
I got these cool earrings in Georgetown and wore them to the Kennedy Center Honors for Tina Turner. Showstopper.
(2" X 3/4")
Vintage Rhinestone Drop Earrings #2
These were purchased at a boutique in Grosse Pointe and I wore them to the Obama Inauguration Ball. Clip ons.
(2" X 3/4")
Vintage Turquoise Drop Earrings #3
I love these because they look so southwestern. Pair them with jeans and butt kickin' boots and you're ready to go just about anywhere.
(2" X 1/2")
Vintage Blue "Tie" Pin #4
I have had this for many years - a vintage art deco find that's now "in vogue" again. You can hang stones from the bottom and I was delighted to find that it looks very similar to one I recently saw featured in a fall fashion magazine.
(1 3/4" X 3/4")
PATTI DESIGNS
These designs are a wonderful testament to the evolution of Patti as a jewelry designer.
They also show the range of her talent from formal to casual and trendy. Each is unique in its look and materials and in many of the details she included. They represent the heart and soul of Patti's talent for designing and making jewelry.
TIFFANY COLLECTION INSPIRED PATTI DESIGNS
Patti was intrigued by the technique used to make the enamel pieces displayed in a Tiffany Blue Book which prompted her to create the Sand Dollar Pendant. This is also where she came across designs that inspired her future work on THE necklace, an exceptionally difficult and stunning pendant necklace.
Spiral Gold and Silver Earrings #5
These had to be done in the studio using unwanted pieces of my own silver and gold jewelry. I melted them into a piece where the silver ran into the gold. The idea is that as they twist and turn the gold and silver would twist and turn around each other.
(3" X 1/4")
Folded Leaf and Apatite Earrings #6
These required a special folding technique that I was intrigued with and working on when I got sick. They are sterling silver set with apatites, and thanks to Bodil, they are beautifully finished.
(1" X 1/2")
Silver Link Earrings #7
These are fun, casual and trendy earrings that I made.
(2 1/4" X 1/2")
Pearl and Silver Bracelet #8
This is one of my early designs. I didn't really make it, I just put the pieces together that I liked including a beautiful clasp, pearls, and silver beads.
(7 1/2" in length)
Gold and Pink Agate Necklace #9
I made this to go with a party dress. I like that it's easy to change it up by adding other stones to it, besides the green tourmaline.
(24" chain, 3/4" gem)
Turquoise Necklace with Gold Horseshoe #10
I "borrowed" this style from Sundance thought I switched the pendant to be made of gold and it looks like a horseshoe.
(20" in length)
Chunky but Delicate Bead Necklace #11
The white beads are surprisingly fragile, like eggshells, and they are paired with gray stone beads in an interesting and contrasting mix. I have kept it as a showpiece of my jewelry and in spite of numerous offers for it, I've never sold it.
(16" in length)
Virgin Islands Clay Pendant Necklace #12
Patti got these pendants while with a bunch of friends (you know who you are) in the Virgin Islands. She made the necklace from turquoise and clay beads and made a similar necklace for each of her friends.
(19" in length)
Black Onyx Triple Strand Necklace #13
I made this cool necklace to match a lot of different styles from casual to formal. I think it's a great length and love the unique triple clasp.
(20" in length)
Copper Leaf Necklace #14
Gorgeous large copper leaf pendant with silver veins through it. This is one of a series. I was experimenting with the size and the way the metals looked and interacted.
(34" cord, 2 1/2" X 1 1/2" leaf)
Silver Shell Necklace #15
This shell is one of a series of shells collected at beloved Palm Island in Florida - a place introduced to me by my grandmother. I have spent so many hours on those gorgeous beaches finding rare and beautiful shells. I ended up casting a series of these "cat's paw" shells in silver, and while I like them paired with bright ribbons, they are also lovely added as a pendant to a beautiful strand of pearls.
(30" ribbon, 1" X 1" shell)
Fabulous Enamel Necklace #19
There are certain materials that just "live with you well". Enamels are like that for me. I just sat down and was able to it. Adding the enamels to the shells is perfectly fitting given my love of the ocean. This is an enameled sand dollar with a gorgeous range of colors including orange, coral and sand, on a 14K gold chain.
(20" chain, 2" diameter sand dollar)
THE LADYSMITHS COLLECTION
Patti was part of this group when she lived in Virginia. We are female metalsmiths (and one honorary male) who get together monthly to teach each other new techniques and share newly created work. To honor her work and the PattiStrong Foundation a few fellow jewelry artists have donated pieces for the cause.

Small Heart Stone Necklace by Bodil Lund #21
I found this naturally shaped stone on a beach and had it cast in sterling silver. The heart is three dimensional and has the texture of the real stone. I've added a few pink tourmalines (Patti's birthstone) for a splash of color. The gems are on a small ring that can be removed.
(18" chain, 1/2" X 1/2" heart)

THE Necklace #20
This necklace has an exceptional point of view and fabulous finishing work. I was inspired to design and make this by pieces I saw in a Tiffany catalog. Mixing in the colors was a way of making it more contemporary and fun. My nickname for this piece was "stupidity" because of how hard it was to make. It's insane to set this many stones. The 71 gems featured are Iolite, Amethyst, and CZs. To that end, my grateful thanks to Nick Barnes, my instructor, for his painstaking work to finish it for me this summer. It is a truly fantastic one of a kind piece. The fight for this one has begun.
(18" length chain, 2 1/2" in diameter pendant)

Mystery Piece #17
This item is a Patti Designed contribution to the auction by Patti's sister Suzanne. Per Suzanne: This item is very near and dear to my heart and is one of my favorite things that Patti made for me.
I would characterize this item as elegant and timeless.
Turquoise Earrings with
Whimsical Posts #16
I like to mix the expected with the unexpected, and paired the very feminine, delicate gold and emerald posts with the chunkier turquoise stones. There is a lovely wire scroll on the back of the earrings that connects the posts (which can be changed) to the earrings.
(1 1/4" in length)
The PATTISTRONG FOUNDATION
has been established to provide funding, training and support globally for women to achieve entrepreneurial success, and to do so in ways that encourage the development of both enduring enterprises and strong families.
Patti came up with the idea for this auction so that her passion for jewelry and design could benefit her foundation. The October timing and the lowest minimum bids are intended to honor her 49th birthday.
Small Charm on Chain #18
A sterling silver two sided PattiStrong charm has been added onto 20" sterling silver wheat link chain. Both sides of the charm shown above.
(3/4" charm)

Amber Chunk Necklace
by Howard Stelzer #25
Large chunky pieces of amber combined with various sterling silver beads for a fun and festive necklace. This piece is donated by Molly, Patti's mom.
(18" in length)
Twisted Wire and Gemstone Necklace by Ellen Krieger #23
This necklace is made by twisting copper wire around swarowski crystals, checkoslovakian glass beads, and pearls. It lays beautifully on the neck.
(16" can be extended to 20")

Heart Earrings with Opals
by Dana Evans #24
This was one of my earliest stone-set pieces of sterling silver and opals (my favorite) and I've held on to them because they had sentimental value. I'm happy to donate them to the cause of helping our fellow ladysmith Patti especially because her birthstone for October is the opal.
